Oh, this has been a trying week for Jen Choi (hence, the lack of posting) but sadly, it has all come to this: MTV is set is remake our beloved Rocky Horror Picture Show (by RKO, RK-who?).
Rocky Horror (1975) came into my life during my 14 year-old-middle-school-bully-phase. It was during my coming of age where I finally understood the magic of Tim Curry but only years later would I realizes how disturbing it must have been for passers-by to see mobs of 8th grade girls doing the “Time Warp’s” infamous pelvic thrust in unison at the public park.
That’s right, all of us were once advocates of “Don’t Dream It, Be It”:
According to Variety, MTV will use the original screenplay but has yet to choose a cast. My suggestions:
Meatloaf as “Eddie”
Krut Loder as “Brad Majors”
That One Hot Asian MTV News Chick as “Janet Weiss”
Coral as “Riff Raff” (complete with signature skullet)
and…Kanye West as “Dr. Frank-N-Furter”
That possibilities are endless.
