Well apparently someone isn’t too happy about a certain political regime…and by someone I mean Bloc Party and by regime I mean the Bush administration.
I can’t blame them, not many of us are, but this blogger is not very happy about Bloc Party’s latest single and the video that accompanies it
After 2005’s Silent Alarm (Vice Records), it became increasingly difficult not to be completely annoyed with this British “punk-revival” band. Indeed, I do blame most of my problems with Bloc Party on how much everyone decided to play and replay Silent Alarm but looking back, there really wasn’t much to any of the tracks but a catchy tune.
“Mercury” shows a shift in Bloc Party’s method with less traditional rock and roll aspects; however, it still lacks substance. I get it, “mercury in retrograde” (“everything is going to shit”) but really, it just sound like a bad Prodigy song. And I liked Prodigy.
